These Rider Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Rider", "User", "Customer", "You") and CityRyde Technologies Private Limited and its affiliates ("CityRyde", "Company", "Platform", "We", "Us", "Our").

By downloading, registering, accessing, or using the CityRyde website, mobile application, or any services offered through the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use of the Platform.

1. Nature of the Platform

CityRyde is a technology-based ride aggregation platform that facilitates the discovery, booking, and payment of rides between Riders and independent Driver Partners ("Sarathis").

CityRyde does not own, lease, operate, manage, or control vehicles used by Sarathis unless expressly stated otherwise.

CityRyde is not a transportation provider.
CityRyde acts solely as an intermediary technology platform connecting Riders with independent Sarathis.
The transportation service is provided solely by the Sarathi.

2. Rider Eligibility

You represent and warrant that:
  • You are at least 18 years of age or otherwise legally permitted to use the Platform.
  • You possess legal capacity to enter into binding contracts.
  • All information provided is accurate.
  • You will comply with all applicable laws.

3. Rider Responsibilities

By using CityRyde, you agree that you shall:
  • behave respectfully;
  • obey all applicable laws;
  • remain seated with doors closed while the vehicle is moving;
  • provide accurate pickup and drop locations;
  • ensure that you are medically fit to undertake the ride;
  • not request illegal transportation;
  • not carry prohibited goods;
  • not threaten, abuse, harass, intimidate, or assault any Sarathi;
  • not damage any vehicle or property;
  • not interfere with safe operation of the vehicle;
  • not request traffic violations;
  • not smoke, consume illegal drugs, or engage in unlawful conduct during a ride.

The Rider shall be solely responsible for his or her own conduct throughout the ride.

4. Assumption of Risk

The Rider voluntarily chooses to use cab services.
The Rider acknowledges that transportation by cab involves inherent risks including:
  • road accidents;
  • weather conditions;
  • traffic congestion;
  • acts of third parties;
  • mechanical failures;
  • unforeseen emergencies.
The Rider voluntarily assumes all such risks.

5. Rider Conduct

The Rider agrees not to:
  • assault the Sarathi;
  • threaten any person;
  • commit fraud;
  • provide false identity;
  • evade payment;
  • damage property;
  • consume alcohol or narcotics in the vehicle;
  • carry weapons or hazardous materials;
  • transport prohibited goods;
  • violate public order.
CityRyde may suspend or permanently terminate any account violating these provisions.

6. Zero Surge Pricing

CityRyde may offer Zero Surge Pricing or Flat Fare pricing for eligible rides.
Pricing may nevertheless vary due to:
  • route changes;
  • additional stops;
  • waiting charges where applicable;
  • government taxes;
  • tolls;
  • parking charges;
  • statutory fees.
Displayed fares are estimates unless expressly stated otherwise.

7. Payments

The Rider authorizes CityRyde to collect payments through approved payment methods.
Failure to pay may result in:
  • suspension;
  • legal recovery proceedings;
  • additional collection costs;
  • restriction from future bookings.

8. Cancellations

Cancellation charges may apply where permitted by applicable law.
Repeated abuse of cancellations may result in suspension.

9. Rider Safety

The Rider agrees to:
  • sit inside with doors closed while moving and use the seatbelt;
  • sit safely;
  • avoid distracting the Sarathi;
  • follow lawful safety instructions.
Failure to comply is solely the Rider's responsibility.

10. Personal Belongings

The Rider is solely responsible for all personal belongings.
CityRyde shall not be liable for:
  • lost items;
  • forgotten property;
  • theft;
  • damage;
  • misplaced luggage.

11. Rider Representations

The Rider represents that:
  • no prohibited item is being transported;
  • all information supplied is accurate;
  • no illegal activity will occur using the Platform.

12. No Employment Relationship

The Rider acknowledges that Sarathis are independent partners.

Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship between the Rider and CityRyde.

13. No Transportation Responsibility

The Rider expressly agrees that:
  • CityRyde does not physically transport Riders;
  • CityRyde does not operate vehicles;
  • CityRyde does not supervise rides in real time;
  • CityRyde does not guarantee the actions of Riders or Sarathis.
The transportation agreement exists directly between the Rider and the Sarathi.

14. Rider's Sole Responsibility

The Rider shall be solely responsible for:
  • personal conduct;
  • legal compliance;
  • decisions made during the ride;
  • personal safety decisions;
  • interactions with the Sarathi;
  • property carried during travel.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CityRyde, its directors, shareholders, officers, employees, affiliates, licensors, contractors, and agents shall not be liable for any:

  • death;
  • injury;
  • illness;
  • accident;
  • theft;
  • robbery;
  • assault;
  • misconduct by third parties;
  • loss of income;
  • emotional distress;
  • consequential damages;
  • indirect damages;
  • incidental damages;
  • punitive damages;
  • special damages;
  • loss of data;
  • business interruption;
  • loss of profits;
  • property damage;
  • missed appointments;
  • delays caused by traffic, weather, road closures, strikes, riots, civil disturbances, or governmental actions.

Where liability cannot legally be excluded, CityRyde's aggregate liability shall be limited to the amount paid by the Rider for the specific ride giving rise to the claim or such other minimum amount required by applicable law.

16. Release

The Rider irrevocably releases and discharges CityRyde from all claims arising from:
  • Rider negligence;
  • Rider misconduct;
  • Rider violations of law;
  • disputes between Rider and Sarathi;
  • third-party actions;
  • events beyond CityRyde's reasonable control,
except where such release is prohibited by applicable law.

17. Rider Indemnity

The Rider agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CityRyde and its directors, officers, employees, affiliates, licensors, contractors, investors, and agents from any claims, liabilities, penalties, damages, losses, costs, or legal expenses arising out of:

  • breach of these Terms;
  • unlawful acts;
  • negligence or wilful misconduct;
  • damage to any vehicle or property;
  • injury caused by the Rider;
  • misuse of the Platform;
  • violation of any law or third-party rights.

18. Fraud Prevention

CityRyde reserves the right to investigate suspected fraud, abuse, payment disputes, fake bookings, or other misuse of the Platform and may suspend or terminate accounts accordingly.

19. Suspension and Termination

CityRyde may suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate Rider accounts without prior notice where reasonably necessary to protect the Platform, Sarathis, users, or comply with legal obligations.

20. Privacy

The Rider consents to the collection, use, processing, storage, and sharing of personal information in accordance with CityRyde's Privacy Policy.

21. Force Majeure

CityRyde shall not be liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, epidemics, government actions, strikes, telecommunications failures, power outages, cyberattacks, or other force majeure events.

22. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of India.

Subject to applicable law and any mandatory consumer rights, disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably. Failing resolution, disputes shall be referred to arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, with the seat of arbitration at Hyderabad, Telangana, unless otherwise required by law. Courts having jurisdiction at Hyderabad shall have supervisory jurisdiction.

23. Acceptance

By clicking "I Agree", creating an account, booking a ride, or otherwise using the Platform, the Rider confirms that:

  • these Terms have been read and understood;
  • the Rider voluntarily accepts them;
  • the Rider agrees to be legally bound by them;
  • electronic acceptance shall have the same legal effect as a handwritten signature, to the extent recognized by applicable law.
