This Safety Policy establishes the minimum safety standards applicable to all Riders, Sarathis (Driver Partners), employees, contractors and users of the CityRyde platform. The objective is to promote safe, lawful and respectful transportation while reducing risks associated with ride-hailing services.
This Policy applies to all rides facilitated through the CityRyde platform including cab rides and any future mobility services.
Safety is a shared responsibility. Riders, Sarathis and CityRyde each have responsibilities. Sarathis must operate vehicles safely and comply with applicable laws. Riders must follow safety instructions and behave responsibly. CityRyde provides technology, safety features and reporting mechanisms but does not guarantee elimination of all risks.
Operate only legally compliant vehicles; maintain licences, insurance and permits; obey traffic laws; never drive under the influence; do not overload beyond the permitted seating capacity; keep doors, seatbelts, child locks and airbags (where fitted) in safe working order; report accidents immediately.
Provide accurate pickup and destination information; remain seated with seatbelts fastened and doors closed while moving; avoid distracting the Sarathi; avoid unsafe behaviour; report emergencies through the Platform.
Violence, harassment, discrimination, intoxication while operating a vehicle, carrying prohibited goods, fraud, tampering with GPS, abuse of emergency features, and criminal conduct are prohibited.
Users should contact local emergency services first in life-threatening situations. CityRyde's in-app safety features are supplemental and not a replacement for emergency responders.
Accidents, injuries, threats, harassment, property damage and criminal activity should be reported through the Platform as soon as reasonably practicable. CityRyde may investigate and cooperate with competent authorities.
CityRyde may suspend or terminate access to the Platform for violations of this Policy, subject to applicable law and internal review procedures.
CityRyde may amend this Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of updated versions.
The policy applies to Riders, Sarathis and relevant users involved in cab trips and explains their shared safety responsibilities.
Prioritize personal safety, use available in-app emergency tools and call India's emergency number 112 when there is immediate danger.
Use the reporting and support channels described in the policy. Keep the trip ID, date, time and a factual description available for review.
The policy identifies prohibited and unsafe conduct for Riders and Sarathis and explains that violations may lead to investigation or enforcement action.
